I am in a state of deep confusion and conflict. Now, the confusion part is not new ground for me but this whole thing is interesting and so typical of my (right now) home of Louisiana, I thought I would post this just for ##i## and grins. The Legislature of Louisiana is mad at the newspapers. Not a unique situation, the Lege is usually mad at someone or something but right now it is newspapers in general and the Baton Rouge and Lake Charles papers in particular.

This is shortly after 1300 Iraqi soldiers were fired for refusing to fight earlier in the week. I think John "Sydney" McCain's Hundred Year War may not be long enough.

ENOUGH IS ENOUGH!

As you can see by the structure of the picture Hu Jintao, Dictator of China and future WORLD RULER, is the top man with Putin of Russia and Bush as his lackeys. They are caught in this candid photo in the ritualistic dress this subversive organization is required to wear by their Heathen religious beliefs.

I don’t know whether to post this as a rant, humor, computer problems or typical Louisiana incompetence. It is probably all of the above.
Last Friday, after the House stopped the Telecom Amnesty bill I wrote The Honorable Mary Landrieu and told her how glad I was that the House had more backbone than my Senator. I also expressed the fervent hope that she would not run this year so I could vote for a Democrat for that seat. I failed to note something was missing.
One week, seven of days, later, I received a FREEKIN AUTOMATED REPLY! A WEEK! It’s automated; the computer does it without being told. It says so in the message. Only someone from who is carrying the dreaded Louisiana Deadly Slow Pace Virus would have a computer that waits a week to automatically respond. The House went on vacation and her computer went with them.
The bright side is that I know from experience it’s the only reply I will get.

It did my poor heart good to hear someone stand up on a national platform and say that human rights were more important than security. With Bill Richardson as a pragmatic, likeable President and Dennis Kucinich as his attack dog VP, life would be good for me.

I had hoped someone more current and literate would take up this subject but:

I realize what our President thinks of the Constitution (“Just another *** damn piece of paper”); so I was not surprised when a top member of his Intelligence community said that privacy can no longer mean anonymity. We will need to redefine privacy. I think what our President and this Administration has been telling us, in this and other actions and words, is that we need to redefine our freedom. Of course I don’t think they mean us to have more of it. Let us look at a few of the things done in the name of “protecting us”.
