Summer is drawing to a close, and the election cycle is upon us. That’s a good thing, because regular elections are the heartbeat of our American form of government. This year, the Sumner County Democratic Women have a lot to be excited about right here in Sumner County. We’re working especially hard for our great slate of candidates. We know that Sumner County is ready for change, and just as we’ve rolled up our sleeves to support Homesafe and Hannah’s Place, to give a new recreation room to the Gallatin Veteran’s Home and to clean up our stretch of adopted highway, we’re rolling up our sleeves to support our candidates.

That’s why we’re getting ready for the best little party in Middle Tennessee – the Sumner County Three-Star Celebration, to be held September 13 at beautiful Sycamore Springs in Bethpage. We’re expecting a full slate of Dem candidates – Andy Allman and Ken Wilkinson for the State House Jim Hawkins for State Senate, Bart Gordon for Congress, Bob Tuke for U.S. Senate. But it’s not all speechifying. There’ll be live music, a homestyle dinner that can’t be beat, and the best silent auction in Middle Tennessee.

That’s where you come in. We’re hoping you’ll join us for the best summer evening in Middle Tennessee. At $50 a ticket, with special pricing for full tables, (just send us an email) the Three Star is a great evening’s entertainment for a great cause.

And even if you can't join us, you can still help out by making a donation to the silent auction. It can be anything – goods, services, gift cards – be creative! Remember, a gift certificate is a great way to bring new traffic to your door - and a good first impression is the best way to develop repeat customers. We’ll make it easy - you can call or email scdw_president at comcast.net and an SCDW representative will arrange to pick up your donation.

So mark September 13th on your calendar and plan to "party" like it's 2009!
