New Hampshire reaction from Tennessee liberal bloggers

A "never count a Clinton out" roundup of Tennessee liberal blog reaction to the New Hampshire primaries:

Losing to This Guy??? - KnoxViews (Andy Axel)

With over a third of ballots presently counted, Fred Thompson is 2nd to last in the NH primary behind Ron Paul. Now, if you "google Ron Paul" as the spray-painted signs are so fond of saying, you may find this little trove, linking to writings such as this...

Change is in the Air - The Crone Speaks

...those that are happy with the appearance of change will vote for Obama, those that want to see some change will vote for Edwards. Those that want to see a real shake-up will vote for Kucinich.

Enclave: The Democratic Campaign Turned Back to Where It Should Be Tonight

Democrats are turning out in droves not because of personalities, but because of purpose. And that purpose includes some important social issues largely ignored by Republicans in power and by Democrats in Congress.

MSNBC: Clinton Wins NH - KnoxViews (Bill Young in comments)

...there came a time in the '68 race that RFK finally realized folks were voting for HIM & not JFK. For Hillary... tonight was night that she realized... folks voted for me not Bill.

Lean Left

I suspect the press will seize on this as Clinton being the front runner now (Comeback Kid 2.0, and all that), and they'll start turning all of their (generally unfair) criticism at her. It shields Obama from attacks, to some extent, and gives the Edwards campaign a clear target, too.

LeftWingCracker: OK, now what?

I'm not a fan of HRC by a long shot, but the vitriol that media people like Chris Matthews show toward her is out and out misogyny, people; Matthews is a punk and not to be trusted. There are men who absolutely fear her because she is a strong woman; I think she makes their balls shrink up because she does not take bullshit from anyone. Well, except for one Big Dog, maybe.

Calling BS - Newscoma

I’m not even for Hillary but this is the dumbest story I've seen in a long time. [..] She can't win either way. She shows emotion, she’s a hysterical woman. She acts tough and she’s a ballbreaker.
Amazing. I thought we lived in 2008. Oh, wait.

Progressive Nashville: Voting for hope or fear

These are two very different views. Whether it continues beyond New Hampshire remains to be seen, but it does suggest that whoever the next president is, he or she will face a challenge in serving a country with two different priorities.

What Did A Year Of N.H. Campaigning Accomplish? (Resonance)

So, despite months of being wooed by door-to-door canvassing and town hall meetings, nearly half (48%) of the voters didn't decide who to vote for until the last week.

Russ McBee : Pollsters blow it in New Hampshire

Although Edwards placed third in New Hampshire as expected, Super Tuesday remains to be counted. Neither Clinton nor Obama can be called "inevitable" any longer, which means the field is still wide open.

Sean Braisted: "I am always the underdog"

2 states have voted, and in terms of delegates won by voting, Obama is still ahead (both he and Clinton received 9 delegates tonight in New Hampshire). The political punditry which was just hours ago wondering how Clinton would survive, will likely be asking the same questions of Barack Obama tomorrow. For lack of a better word, f*** the pundits.

Sharon Cobb: The Tear Heard Round The World

Does anyone really believe a 60 year old woman who has guarded her feelings all of her life suddenly has an epiphany and finds her voice in New Hampshire during a Presidential election? Give me a break.

Silence Isn't Golden: This Seems Appropriate Right About Now

You know what the worst part about all of this is going to be? The lecture I'm probably going to get from my mother about how I need to support Hillary once she's the nominee, because "Obama had a good run, but now it's time to get serious." [Ed. Note: be sure to see the accompanying video clip.

Tennessee Guerilla Women: Hillary Wins! Women Did It!!!

Women did it!!! Fifty-seven percent of New Hampshire voters were women -- 47% of women went with Hillary, and 34% for Obama. [..] Oh, and the stupid media lost. Especially Tweety. I can't believe how stupid our media is. If voters are not listening to the media morons, there's hope for America!

Middle class - TennViews (Lovable Liberal)

But the elite media aren't interested [in Edwards' message] - too truthful, not truthy enough. You'd think that the media, even uninterested in what the campaigns say, would at least post transcripts of the candidates' speeches for political nerds like me. But no, there's a byte shortage, and the news sites can't afford a couple of kilobytes of text while still posting their megabytes of photos on their gigabyte disk farms.
