CNN is reporting that John Edwards has withdrawn from the presidential race. He has canceled all campaign events and is going to New Orleans to make a major policy speech.
Edwards planned to announce his campaign was ending with his wife and three children at his side. Then he planned to work with Habitat for Humanity at the volunteer-fueled rebuilding project Musicians' Village, the adviser said.
With that, Edwards' campaign will end the way it began 13 months ago — with the candidate pitching in to rebuild lives in a city still ravaged by Hurricane Katrina. Edwards embraced New Orleans as a glaring symbol of what he described as a Washington that didn't hear the cries of the downtrodden.
You know he does have a cherished wife that has been fighting her second battle with cancer now knowm to be incurable.
Also, the bull hockey about the House - all the crap he has taken about a house that is less that 10,000 sq ft, but everyone has taken liberties galore in adding the other buildings on the property to the total Sq Ft., well you know what Clinton has at least 2 houses maybe 3, add up her sq footage, and Obama lives in a Million dollar plus house also. But the real crux of the issue is the fact that Elizabeth - who is dying designed that house, and I would hope that any man that has the money, and can afford it would let his dying wife leave the type home she would design for her younger childern to grow up in, the property also has a house for Cate to live in, who is also known to plan to carry on in her mothers steps with Emma Claire and Jack. The Edwards supporters have known these things and care deeply for a young family and the true candidate with vision for an America that we all live in equally and that money or race doesn't set one apart.
Obama and Clinton have both copied him. They "change" wording that Obama used was part of Edwards before Obama decided to run with his family on the Beach. The same for Clinton!
To anyone who does gloat if you must - but you are doing it to your own shame.
I am really sick and tired of the bull- that has been slung at the man that both Clinton and Obama have formed their every platform issue and almost every word after. If it hadn't been for Edwards setting this agenda you wouldn't be hearing about have of the issue he has put forth.
And, one I will really miss is college for ALL who want it, and another full coverage of mental illnesses with UHC.
SO, you can think snide and look at him as the MONKEY WRENCH, but he is the man that put your candidate on the road, because the other 2 didn't have a clue to the issues they were months behind Edwards.

I am wondering on some of the Major blogs which supporters that have been the nastiest to the Edwards supporters will be begging the Edwards supporters to join them!
Hum will it be the Obama supporters or maybe the Clinton supports, because both have be horrible!

I know nobody will believe this, but I'm actually a little bummed out about it. I'd hoped he would stay in longer to talk about some issues that are really important (and then wind up getting named Supreme Court justice under Hillary)...
