Interesting comment at WhitesCreek:
This point did not come to mind when I was reviewing the Senate votes.
However, I did notice Obama did vote on something else that day, Expressing Support for All Men and Women in the U.S. Armed Forces.
For some reason, Obama elected to not vote on the other bill presented that day.
Thus, distancing himself from any controversy. Obama is allowing condemnation of Moveon.org and anyone that might attack Petraeus verbally or in written form.
So, he drew a fine line, that was very telling, I believe. I think I like it. Somehow at the time, I didn't realize that the resolution had so many different amendments. pgs

Do you have a link for this work at Project Vote Smart.
It is interesting to note that some votes on some issues are not as important to one as they may be to another. Isn't the work at Project Vote done by volunteers? If it is the work is somewhat suspect.
2005 In the 109th First session there were 366 votes
2006 In the 109th Second session there were 279 votes
2007 In the 110th First session there were 442 votes
A total of 1087 and they selected 244 votes,
109 of those 244 they used Obama very first year in, while most follow suit with their party in votes and don't necessarily reflect their true voting pattern as they are new and learning.
I have said along with Jonathan Alter (Newsweek) that there is little difference in Obama and Clinton, it was Edwards that was the progressive.
Just some points.
The best has suspended his campaign and can still receive delegates, supporters are still voting for Edwards, who knows now where we go.

I thought he would be ready day one?
Now I understand why Obama claims himself as the Washington outsider... He either choose to avoid controversial votes OR he was absent for them more times than Hillary or Edwards. I am really nervous that Republican political machine has a calculated plan to boast him into Democratic ticket and kill Democrats in Nov by having a middle-line candidate of their own... Same as the same-sex marriage proposition which killed J.Kerry in 2004. Let's get smart and look beyond the rhetoric... I wish we had a clear candidate with less controversy and clear direction. Obama scares me as the empty vessel. While Hillary has her own shade of issues, she may be realistically the more electable one in Nov.
