U.S. Rep. David Davis (R, TN-1) announces reelection bid
Submitted by R. Neal on Thu, 02/14/2008 - 14:23.
From his press release:
Davis, who recently received Family Research Council’s “True Blue” award, concluded by saying that, “It is important for me to represent the traditional values that the people of East Tennessee hold near and dear to their hearts. I look forward to continually standing up for the sanctity of life, our right to have faith in God, the family, hard work, and personal responsibility.”
daring to lead with 19th century ideas in a 21st century world. If your views on any of the thoughts he mentions do not agree with his, then you just ain't Amurican. Theocracy, Ho!!!!!!!
He ran unopposed in 2006 except for my write-in vote for myself. I announce here in this comment that I am opposing Rep. Davis in this election as a write-in candidate. I have a residence in the district and live there sometimes. I will stand for pro-choice, our right to be atheists, agnostics, Buddhists, Mormons, and even dare I say it, Scientologists. I'm a loner, a slacker, a midnight toker, I play my music in the sun. Please vote for me if you live in the 1st district. Thank you.
Fletch, get on the ballot! All you need is a petition with 25 signatures and a voter registration card showing an address in your district.
Filing deadline for the primary is noon, April 3, 2008. If you want to run as an independent, it's the same filing deadline and you'll automatically be on the ballot in November.
Interesting. I have the registration card but am short 24 signatures, 25 if I can't use my own. It is amazingly easy to do tho. I wasn't planning on coming back that way til the first of April and would have to round up those sigs before then. I'll give it some thought but might have to stay as a write-in this go around. I'll have to prepare myself better...first thing would be to delete that previous comment to stand a chance.

A very succinct translation.

Heh. If you want your write-in vote to be counted, you need to file this certification:
